Phil's Icehouse-March 2009

I had the Brentwood Burger(Bacon and Cheddar) with JalapeƱos. Really good, I thought. Had the regular fries instead of the mix(sweet potato & regular) and thought they were pretty decent, as well. The Onion Rings that Jay and Suzanne got were AWESOME! I don't mind the stringiness of them because the flavor was GREAT! I'll definitely get those next time.

So BC went to Phil's Icehouse last night. It was good. Suzanne and I had been talking about going there, but never did. Suzanne and I split the Mini Burger Sampler. There was a Bleu Cheese, Bar-B-Q, and a Chili Burger in the 3. All 3 were good. The Bleu Cheese could have been a more pronounced, but I think was probably the best of the 3. The Bar-B-Q was ok. The Chili Burger was good, but I don't know if the goodness would have lasted for the duration of a whole large burger. We are talking about going back and splitting a regular Bacon Cheese burger.

The fires were ok, but nothing special. The Onion Rings were really good if you are ok with shoe string onion rings. When we go back we will be getting more of those.

And one of the best things about Phil's is that it's right next to Amy's Ice Cream. I was told by a Phil's employe that they are both owned by Amy or Amy's, but that they are separate when it comes to the revenue.

Overall, I can feel comfortable recommending Phil's to others as a place to get a good burger and experience.

Went back and the O-Rings lacked the seasoning. I assume it was an oversight, but made them give me a hit and ah-yeah...that's the stuff. Make sure they have the seasoning. It's a night and day difference.
