Ok, so the first meeting of BCA was held last Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008. I think everyone had bacon on their various burgers. Oh, wait. Did Andrew's have bacon??? I know it had queso! Not a bad experience, but I was a little disappointed that the burger was well done. Website said they would be cooked medium. Anyway...I, of course, got the "Fatty"(half pound) with bacon, cheddar & jalapeƱos. Like I said, not bad...but EVERYTHING's better with BACON, right? Ask Jessica...veggie burger w/bacon. That's the ONLY way I would ever eat a veggie burger...but of course you know I would NEVER eat a veggie burger. The Onion Rings and Fries were AWESOME in my opinion. I believe they're homemade.
Oh, yeah...I also had a "Hubarita". Basically, a margarita made with Agave wine. Very Tart! I switched to beer after one. All in all, a good experience for 1st stop.
Wish I had pics. I'm sure there are some out there somewhere.

ReplyDeleteI can assure everyone that not having bacon on my burger was merely an oversight; I was distracted by the thought of queso!
My burger was pretty good, I certainly didn't have any complaints. I agree with Suzanne on the fries, nothing remarkable. I did not try the Onion Rings, but we did have tater tots - which were awesome.
I'd rank the place overall as a solid burger place. I liked the outdoor area, even though a large part of it was closed.

ReplyDeleteVeggie burger was a veggie burger but it was made excellent with bacon, of course! They didn't have Tecate :(

I had the "Flatty" with Swiss, bacon and onions and the Half & Half (O-ring and Freedom Fries).
The Burgers: After trying a bite of Jay's "Fatty," I would definitely recommend it over my "Flatty." Much more flavorful. Both were good, burgers, but not great. So the search continues.
O-rings? Yes! Crisp, tasty batter. Medium cut.
French Fries? Not my favorite. They are a thickish cut that start off barely crisp and then head on a downward spiral toward soggy.
Decent selection of beer, but the also have wine and Agave Margaritas, which is nice if that's your bag.
Overall: Good
